It is said that Korčula, Croatia, is one of the best-preserved medieval towns of the Mediterranean Basin. 
It is located on an oval peninsula which is surrounded by crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.
An interesting fact is that the town has a fishbone shape. 
The streets were arranged in such a way as to protect Korčula from strong winds and sun.
